Sunday Reminder: The Dead are Walking in a Winter Wonderland

There's a lot going on! The Winter Olympics and major winter storms may be dominating our weekend, but don't forget that The Walking Dead returns to AMC this Sunday night to continue the second half of its astonishing fourth season.

Things have been totally insane this year. If you have not been a fervent viewer of one of the best shows on television, stop reading and do some binge viewing immediately. Just as Game of Thrones has become "the fantasy show for people who don't like fantasy," The Walking Dead is definitely "the horror show for people who don't dig horror." There is no higher-rated drama series on television, with the show continuing to break ratings records every season. While this is a series about the zombie apocalypse - and a gruesome one - this show puts its characters first, and these folks have gone through hell this year. Without getting too spoilery on you, it's safe to say that familiar landmarks have been rent asunder and any survivors have been scattered like leaves.

In the past, fans of the comic have had at least a general sense of what locale and direction the series would be following. Events at the mid-winter break left me without a freaking clue. It's safe to say that the situation is beyond dire and anything can happen. Whether you hunker down between luge runs Sunday or set your DVR (sorry, Downton, you're taking a back seat in the rotation), this is Can't Miss TV of the first order.
